Game editor for enthusiasts

Gameleon
Hello guys,

I would like to talk about our little project today and get a few opinions about it.

We're a small team consisting of 4 people and we developed a browser game editor, Gameleon, that helps you create a game, without writing any line of code. Everything is visual, the platform is multiplayer and multiplatform by default and it works on almost any internet browser.

I have to mention that Gameleon is free, open source, and it will remain this way.
What we're trying to do is gather a community that will use the editor so that we can fix and develop future aspects, and later, will populate the asset market.

Right now we have a live beta editor that you can try out anytime, but it's not a complete version cause we're still working on implementing all the features on it.
Gameleon supports Top Down and Isometric view right now, but we are currently developing a 3D engine too.

Here are some useful links

Website : http://www.gameleon.co/

Our latest tutorial is about creating quests using Gameleon :http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BJ8l5l3fPRY

We're glad to announce that Microsoft BizSpark PLus has offered to integrate our editor on their server and gave us an amazing package of developers tools, software, support and training to build apps and scale our business. Not only that, BizSpark offers technology to get us in the cloud and free access to Windows Stores and free promotion to the global BizSpark community.

Hope you have an awesome day!

Hello, while this is technically within the purview of this site, I'm afraid that it's dangerously close to the advertising/spamming side of things.

I'd prefer it if you approached the admins directly (that's me) and cleared something like this with us first. I'm going to leave this thread alive for now in case you want to reply here (also pending further deliberation on whether we want this here). Of course, if this is a bot, then I'm guessing there won't be a response, in which case I'll delete this in a week's time.

Thanks,

noklu

Hi,
I'm really sorry for making it seem like an advertising or spamming post. The thing is we want to reach game designers and programmers so that we can receive some feedback regarding our editor. Because our work is in progress,we would appreciate if people would test the editor so that we can fix all the bugs and adapt it for user's needs.

We do organize beta testing here in our office, but we can only test with 4-5 persons per session, so posting on a game developing forum might get us a few more opinions from new points of view ( since there are so many people wanting to develop games here on the forum).

If you still decide to close this thread I will understand and I apologize for not contacting an admin first.

Have a nice day,
Mihaela

Three points: first, thank you for being a human being. We recently had a flood of spambots, which is really just annoying to deal with. Second, your project certainly sounds interesting: a game design/production program without the whole coding business? Brilliant. Third, and most unfortunately, this forum is largely, well, a very quiet place. There isn't really too many people around here that are interested in design any more. In the future, there might be some growth of that side of the site but, at the moment, this side of the site is just quiet.

So with that in mind, I'm going to leave this thread open so anybody who does happen across this thread and is interested can take a look at your stuff.

I was expecting to find a lot of people here, but I won't give up my hopes ! :P
I will keep this post up to date with our latest news for those who browse the threads. I must say I'm really glad you find our project interesting. It's nice to have a confirmation from time to time that our work is as good as we think it is :D

I, for one am interested in what's going on here. Might be a cool alternative to some things I was working on for Phalanx. Thanks for keeping us posted!

We've talked a lot about Gameleon, we've encouraged you to check it out and tell us your opinions, but now it is time for you to play with it!

Gameleon is now live!
The platform already comes with assets and themes built in, so you can start playing with the Editor and creating content right away, exploring it’s built-in content and creating new ones with ease.

We've also implemented a new system: each action in Gameleon is rewarded with points that unlock new and exciting content to make games with.

We’re proud to have received quite a bit of recognition for the innovative ideas behind its power and simplicity, such as the  “Innovation in Internet, Mobile and Software Computing Prize” at the Intel Global Challenge 2013 in Berkeley (as well as Best Pitch) or the IXIA Innovation Award in 2012. We’re also proud of our partnerships with Mozilla (through their WebFWD program) and Microsoft’s BizSpark Plus, who have helped us in our efforts to create a better game-making experience.
